Marmee Nurture Ware is a proud Slow Fashion initiator.  We’ll never present our Marmee sisterhood with the low value, disposable clothing that is produced rapidly by mass-market retailers to keep up with the latest passing trends. We’ll never hype up our customers to shop for more than they need, to the detriment of their household budget and causing harm to the air their kids breathe. 

• Our generation buys 60% more clothing than our Mums did 15 years ago, and we tend to keep that clothing or only half as long.

• The fashion industry is one of the highest polluting industries and is responsible for around 10% of global CO2 emissions.

• Australians are the world’s second largest consumers of textiles, but the average person only wears 40% of their clothes.

• Of the clothes that we donate to charity, only 15% are resold within Australia. The rest are sent to landfill or overseas.

With slower production schedules, smaller collections, zero waste designs, recycled and recyclable packaging, plus the use of sustainable practices and organic materials, Slow Fashion brands, like Marmee Nurture Ware, aim for less textiles to end up in landfills, so fewer harmful chemicals are released into the environment.

Marmee Nurture Ware represents responsible consumption and production. We promote a Reduce, reuse, recycle, care & repair ethos.

By “care” we mean that we hope to inspire wearing, storing, and even cleaning your clothes and accessories correctly to prolong the life of your favourite items.

In fact, if you are a slow fashion advocate, like us, and you accidentally damage your Marmee product, you don’t always need to buy a replacement. You can contact us to check if a “repair” is an option. We’ll advise and will even thread that needle and do our damnedest to lovingly hand mend the damage, if possible.

Sure, your purchases allow us at Marmee Nurture Ware to keep creating and innovating. But in the interests of our kids’ future on this planet, we really hope that most of our unique products live an extended lifespan.

We’d love to believe that you, our lovely customers, will treasure and enjoy the advantages of your Marmee products to the fullest, then when you no longer need them, you will want to gift those same items to your friends who are just starting off on their own Marmee journey.
